Responsibilities

In the role of Account Director - Colocation, we'll count on you to:

  • Project Management: Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large, multidisciplinary projects or medium-sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity. Manage several projects concurrently, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Client Relations: Establish and maintain client relationships. Participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
  • Team Coordination: Conduct design development and contract document work sessions at project sites alongside Project Managers, technical professionals, and other disciplines. Coordinate staffing and workload throughout the project development to meet deadlines.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement QA/QC procedures to maintain high-quality standards across all projects.
  • Training and Mentorship: Execute training programs for personnel as outlined by strategic plans. Supervise large project teams and mentor less-experienced Project Managers to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Bid Management: Manage the bid process, from tracking new opportunities to delivering high-quality, commercially viable bid documents.
  • Company Support: Support the directors in running the company, assist in quality management, and perform engineering activities as needed. Act as a Project Team Leader when appropriate.
  • Recruitment: Interview and recruit new team members, subject to approval.
  • Document Development: Develop standard in-house technical documents and guides.
  • Director Support: Provide support to other directors in areas such as sales, resource control, problem-solving, and engineering advice.
  • Administrative Duties: Sign off timesheets and expenses of direct reports, authorize holiday requests, and maintain a register of technical audits on projects.
  • Quality Management: Ensure that Quality Management System ISO 9001 and 14001 are implemented and maintained.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BEng Mechanical Engineering with Building Services and/or; MEng Electronic & Electrical Engineering with Building Services.
  • Considerable experience will be sought to demonstrate project management skills.
  • Additional Modules Considered Useful: Construction Contract Law, Construction Project Management, Building Services Engineering, Environmental System Design, Lighting Design, Energy in Buildings, Time Management and Presentation courses.
  • Member of CIBSE, ASHRAE or equivalent professional qualifications an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience within a Project Management/Commissioning Management function in a building service orientated business.
  • Worked within company Quality & Environmental policies and procedures.
  • IT Literate - MS Office package.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 7 years related experience
  • A minimum 2 years project management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
