Associate Director Business Development, Cell and Gene Therapy

Job Introduction

We are looking for:

An experienced and ambitious Business Development and Sales professional who will responsible for generating sales (orders) for Cell & Gene Therapy CDMO and CRO services in the UK region. The primary objective will be to find and develop the business opportunities and to close the orders that will deliver and sustain Pharmaron's integrated CDMO/CRO cell and gene therapy growth targets for this region.

This is a remote role with the expectation of travel for business and occasional travel to the Liverpool site

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Research and identify new biotechnology/pharmaceutical clients developing therapeutics, to qualify and validate these prospects and establish new contacts within these companies relevant to the CGT CDMO/CRO services portfolio
  • Establish and maintain client relationships of the highest quality, to strengthen existing relationships to maximize cross-selling business opportunities
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the capabilities and services of the Company and target customers that have potential for our services
  • Work closely with internal and external scientific operations teams in addition to colleagues in business development to develop effective partnerships and strategies to maximize business opportunities from each and every client
  • Manage new business opportunities from the point of inquiry, proposal development, negotiation through to winning the order(s) meeting sales targets
  • Maintain CRM database with specific up-to-date information on sales leads, prospects and opportunities, CDAs/MSAs, quotations, task orders to facilitate management to generate reports for accurate forecasting
  • Attend meetings, conferences as required
  • Cultivate, manage and maintain professional relationships with key internal stakeholders in scientific operations and foster close working relationships between Business Development and Operations on an ongoing basis
  • Develop effective and collaborative relationships with Business Development colleagues outside of CGT

Requirements:

  • Degree level qualification in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, Life Sciences or similar
  • Business development experience within a CRO/CDMO business
  • Demonstrable experience Identifying and closing sales in CGT/ GMP manufacture services
  • Knowledge of the CGT customer base in the UK
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders and customers
  • Proven ability identify new business opportunities and business growth using advanced hunter / finder abilities
  • Advanced negotiations skills with the ability to influence decisions
  • Achievement and goal driven with a focus on results and finding solutions
  • Excellent organization skills, focused on execution, with strong attention to detail
