BeyondFS is a rapidly growing UK-based financial crime prevention consultancy, having grown fivefold in the past three years. We provide 'expert-led' advisory and change services, helping 1st and 2nd line financial crime teams to tackle their biggest challenges, from compliance and risk management, to transforming their financial crime functions to better meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.

What we are looking for?

We are looking for an Assistant Director to join our team who will act as an inspiring leader within a fast-growing financial crime consulting business. You will:

  • Shape, develop and grow BeyondFS financial crime propositions.
  • Directly contribute to BeyondFS' sales.
  • Take charge on delivery: supporting our clients with complex transformation programmes
  • Shape and grow our client accounts with the Partners and Directors, and be actively involved in go-to-market campaigns.
  • Contribute towards recruitment objectives, and other people-related activities;
  • Lead and manage internal projects.

Successful candidate should be able to evidence several of the following:

  • 10 - 15+ years in financial services with a mix of financial services and consulting experience.
  • Exposure to a range of financial services products, operational disciplines and compliance systems, and preferably in several geographies.
  • Technical and practical expertise in areas such as:
    • Understanding policy development and/or compliance monitoring function or 1LOD risk management function.
    • Developing risk management frameworks and drafting supporting documentation
    • Working on regulatory audit engagements (e.g., Section 166/Skilled Person/Monitorship programmes).
    • Working with and change programmes to deliver FC technology (a working-good understanding of FC Technology impacts on FC)
    • Horizon scanning for new regulatory requirements and understanding their impact.
    • Developing practical solutions to regulatory issues with a focus on risk outcomes.
  • Collaborating with senior leaders to deliver risk outcomes/strategy.
  • Senior-level stakeholder engagement, including C-suite relationship building and sponsorship management.

Additional preferred competencies in:

  • sales track record, including opening and expanding key accounts.
  • Ability to take a leading role in shaping and growing consulting practices, including go-to-market strategies and internal development.

Candidates should be able to evidence several of the following skillsets:

  • Breadth of expertise in AML, CTF, Financial Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Facilitation of Tax Evasion, Fraud prevention with deep experience and specialisation in one or more discipline.
  • Expertise in FC risk management frameworks (e.g., risk assessment, including creating/executing risk assessment models (CRA/EWRA), Politically Exposed Persons, Adverse Media typology assessments, tuning and calibration exercises.
  • Advisory expertise across operational areas such as KYC, Screening, Transaction Monitoring, SARs, Court Orders, Exits etc.
  • Developing quality control and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Extensive knowledge of global legislation and regulatory environments (particularly: UK, EU and US).
  • A strong intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to learning through independent research.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities through consultative questioning.
  • Effective communication, structuring insights into clear messages, and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Innovative thinking with a positive attitude to change, embracing new ideas to improve performance.

Additional preferred skillsets:

  • Holding a recognised financial crime prevention qualification (ICA or ACAMs).
  • Confident contributor at industry events.

Remuneration and benefits

You will be recognised and rewarded with:

  • Competitive renumeration: This is made up of a base salary from £105k depending on experience. Additionally, you can earn up to 10% bonus based on sales performance, up to 10% personal performance bonus and up to 10% bonus based on company performance.
  • Leave: 25 days holiday increasing by a day for each year in service to a total of 29 days (plus we will give you your birthday off)
  • Additional leave: you can buy extra days up to a maximum of 30 per year
  • Flexible benefits: £3,000 annual allowance from day one of employment for you to allocate as you wish. Choose from benefits such as private medical insurance, critical illness cover, buy additional holiday or take the amount as extra cash if you prefer and electric car and ride to work schemes available on successful completion of your probationary period.

Where are we located?

Our culture and team spirit are a key part of who we are and the business we all want to be part of. We encourage all of our team to collaborate and share knowledge working from our office whenever possible. We work in our serviced office space in London, with client-based working when needed.
