As an Associate Sustainability Director, you will have the opportunity to work across the division and services to perform a support and delivery function, assisting the leadership team in ensuring the services meet the needs of our clients and are delivered successfully against internal requirements. Effectively deliver and lead delivery of sustainability tasks with appropriate supervision: co-ordinating with internal divisions and project teams, other project disciplines and the client. Support and advise internal and external project teams in targeting and achieving specific sustainability strategies and solutions. Proactively mentor and direct junior colleagues to ensure their professional development and task delivery is successful.
In the role of Associate/Associate Director, we'll count on you to:
- Undertake day-to-day service line project delivery and management responsibility for nominated team members.
- Professionally, proactively and successfully manage with support all aspects of your specialist division's activities and services.
- Ensure successful management and delivery of modelling services to our Clients' in a timely, integrated, and technically proficient manner.
- Proactively participate and manage team development activities, transfer of knowledge, and mentor junior colleagues to support the achievement of individual, team, performance, and development objectives.
- Maintain professional accreditation(s), awareness and understanding (e.g. CPDs) of relevant industry standards, regulations, legislation and policies appropriate to the services of the division.
- Identify opportunities to invest, develop and offer new services within your service line Team and to support the technical delivery and offerings of the company.
- Understand the relationship and process of task delivery in relation to fee, resources and allocation of hours to ensure a timely delivery, meeting the objectives.
- Manage the gathering of data and financial information related to service line tasks.
- Undertake management and completion of administrative tasks relating to any part of the business as required, for example: timecards, marketing, HR and procurement.
- Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the grade of the post.
Preferred Qualifications
- An Environmental / Sustainability / Energy / Building Services / Engineering related Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in a relevant subject as a minimum. A Master's Degree or equivalent is desirable.
- Minimum 8 years' experience working within an energy and sustainability environment within a recognised engineering practise.
- Practitioner / chartered (or equivalent) member of an appropriate industry association E.g., IMechE/CIBSE
- Form of Accreditation in two or more of the following: LCC, LCEA (level 5), OCDEA
- Successfully delivered in each of the following studies: Part L - Domestic/ Part L - Non-domestic/ EPCs - Domestic/EPCs - Non-domestic, Thermal Comfort, BREEAM Credit Modelling/Overheating
- Delivery in the Data Center sector is highly advantageous
- Knowledge and ability to read Mechanical and Electrical Drawings and specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and team working skills.
- Personable self-starter with the ability to project a positive 'can do' and professional attitude at all times.
- Ability to cope with frequent and varied tasks and prioritise workload according to the needs of the service, always maintaining good working relationships.
- Skilled in project management and supervision.
- Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Skilled in IESVE and STROMA FSAP software. Ideally, competent in using either Rhino or Sketchup
- Able to establish excellent rapport and good working relationships within team(s), company, project teams and with Clients.
- Good organisational ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle a varied workload and keep to tight deadlines.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architectural Engineering or closely related field
- A minimum of 7 years experience
- Demonstrated practical experience, competence and proven expertise in evaluating state-of-the-art building designs and energy-efficiency technologies
- Thorough understanding of mechanical systems and controls and knowledge of the specialized requirements of highly technical facilities such as hospitals and laboratories
- Ability to develop detailed energy models with eQuest or other simulation software
- Experience working within the architectural design process
- Understanding of energy-efficient commercial lighting systems
- Availability to travel out of state
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to speak with confidence to building owners, facility personnel, contractors, architects and engineers
- Excellent writing and documentation skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
