You will work closely with underwriting, operations, market management, and claims colleagues to ensure seamless policy administration and delivery.
The Impact You Will Have
As an Assistant Underwriter, you will play a key supporting role in preparing and managing underwriting activities for new and renewal business across various Lines of Business. You will help ensure underwriting compliance, contribute to the timely issuance of policy documents, support account reconciliation processes, and maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders and brokers. This entry-level role offers exposure to the full underwriting lifecycle in a global, matrixed environment, ideal for candidates seeking to build a career in insurance.
Some of your responsibilities could include:
-Supporting the underwriting process by preparing relevant client, market, and claims data.
-Assisting in pricing and natural catastrophe accumulation evaluations.
-Ensuring compliance with underwriting governance frameworks and contract certainty at inception.
-Coordinating the issuance and accuracy of policy documentation and administration of international insurance programs.
-Supporting timely premium bookings, credit control, and resolving accounts queries.
-Maintaining strong peer-level relationships with brokers and collaborating with internal functions (e.g., Claims, Operations, Market Management).
What You'll Bring to the Role:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Law, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of experience in insurance or a similar environment.
- Basic understanding of underwriting, risk assessment, and policy lifecycle.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive, team-oriented attitude with ability to work in a complex, global matrix.
- Fluent English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
- Progress toward professional insurance qualification (e.g., CII) is advantageous.
- A willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role and the broader organization is expected.
