Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Induction Programme Management
Design, implement, and continuously improve the trust-wide induction programme.
Ensure the programme aligns with trust values, policies, and statutory requirements.
Organise and facilitate corporate induction sessions.
Gather feedback from new employees and implement necessary improvements.
Lead and coordinate all aspects of the Corporate Trust Induction.
Review and manage content presented by subject matter experts at the induction marketplace.
Maintain up-to-date Trust Induction web pages.
Monitor compliance with induction requirements and generate reports.
Report non-attendance at induction sessions to line managers.
Training Delivery & Support
Deliver training on topics such as Trust Induction, ESR OLM (Electronic Staff Record Online Learning Management), probation, and appraisals.
Act as an expert on the probation, appraisal, and pay progression process to support Trust staff.
Support the Mandatory Training Officer with training events.
Assist Trust managers with training data requests.
Export and analyse Business Intelligence reports from ESR.
Ensure statutory and mandatory training initiatives are supported.
Lead on the bi-annual Trust Tent event to ensure Training Team representation.
Support the Training and Learning Team supervisor in creating the annual course catalogue.
Compliance & Reporting
Track and report induction compliance, new starter training completion, and probation period compliance.
Create quarterly reports on induction outcomes and present findings to senior management.
Establish a feedback system to check in with new starters during their probationary period.
Collate and analyse evaluation forms from induction sessions, providing recommendations for improvement.
Provide written reports to relevant trust groups as required.
Attend Trust meetings as a representative of the Training and Learning Team.
Team Management & Development
Supervise and provide guidance to the Training and Learning Team.
Allocate tasks and ensure team members meet key objectives and deadlines.
Support the professional development of team members.
Act as the main point of contact for induction-related queries.
Ensure new starters have a positive onboarding experience.
Keep up to date with best practices in onboarding and employee engagement.
Implement feedback-driven improvements to the induction process.
Provide cover for the Bedford site on an ad-hoc basis when required.
Deputise for the Training and Learning Manager when necessary.
Financial Management
Support the Training and Learning Manager in developing and securing cost-effective training resources.
Ensure a balance between costs incurred and benefits realised.
Maintain accurate records of departmental expenditure.
Ensure adherence to the Trust's financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a training or HR setting.
- Degree level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Any Education or Teacher Training related qualification
- Any event management qualification
- Project management qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in delivering induction programmes, training, or learning & development initiatives.
- Evidence of problem solving
- Leading on projects
- Experience of planning and delivering events
