To contribute to the development of a viable business plan for the Directorate and to represent the directorate objectives in that business plan.
To support the financial performance of the directorate liaising with the Directorate Accountant; maintaining expenditure tolerances and ensuring the directorates maximise the income targets identified in the budget
Support the delivery of the cost improvement and productivity programmes identified for the directorates as part of the Directorate plan
Assist the Service teams to manage within their establishment and ensure that across all directorates the use of agency and locum is by exception
Ensure any changes to establishment, replacement of positions and development of cover are properly documented and presented in a justification case which identifies risk, cost implication and income implications
To support production of well - balanced business cases for all service developments or service changes including resource implications, capital requirements and full costs as well as income opportunity and efficiency gain
To support and develop a focus on the profit and loss account for the directorate, which supports the focus of the Directorate, as a Service Line
Work with General Managers, Business Managers and commissioning leads for services to support the successful delivery of the business plan, and ensure awareness of stakeholder priorities within the CSL, as part of informing the business and strategic planning for services
To be aware, of relevant National, Local and internal policy and guidance such as NICE, Specialist Commissioning, Procedures of low clinical value.
