Kavaliro is seeking an Assistant Program Director to lead the cybersecurity efforts for our client. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with extensive knowledge of the cybersecurity landscape, capable of managing complex technical projects and geographically diverse teams. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and decision-maker, playing a key role in shaping the future of our cybersecurity programs.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team focused on technical testing of network and application systems to identify and address security vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure team members have a solid grasp of network architecture and application frameworks to effectively secure systems.
  • Develop and refine testing protocols and procedures that adhere to industry best practices.
  • Provide clear, consistent updates to client leadership on program progress, deliverables, and future strategies.
  • Regularly report security assessment results and compliance initiatives to the Board of Directors (BOD).
  • Collaborate with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) teams to ensure security strategies are integrated across the organization.
  • Drive team training and development to enhance expertise in network and application security testing.
  • Set the strategic direction for cybersecurity projects, ensuring alignment with the client's vision and market trends. Coordinate cross-functional teams across different locations to meet project goals.
  • Maintain technical excellence within the team by utilizing the latest technologies and cybersecurity practices, particularly in supporting BlindSPOT and other key initiatives.
  • Inspire and manage geographically dispersed teams, promoting a culture of collaboration and high performance. Optimize resource allocation and task management to maximize team output.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity overseeing complex projects and teams.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to navigate corporate structures and influence senior leadership.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and technical expertise in cybersecurity.
  • Proven success in managing teams responsible for network and application security testing.
  • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity, IT governance, and risk management.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with experience managing diverse teams and interacting with senior stakeholders.
  • Skilled at developing strategic plans and communicating complex security concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of effective collaboration with executives, board members, and external partners.
  • Outstanding public speaking and media communication abilities.
