Job Description

Ensure Physical security of branch/local market

  • Ensure that all security staff schedules are structured to fully meet the needs of the location, maximise the physical deterrence and floor presence of the entire security staff and ensure adequate floor coverage
  • Ensure that special events within home store and local market (as directed by the security manager) are conducted per policy and that the applicable security measures are in place to maintain a safe, secure and successful event
  • Ensure the physical security applications in your location are to standard by conducting daily inspections of all physical security systems, including alarms, cameras, radios, locks, keys, perimeter doors, etc.
  • Manage equipment service repairs through the Equipment Database and liaison with corporate security on all service calls and work through to completion
  • Maintain IMP site readiness: ensure all emergency procedure guidelines are in place, emergency evacuation plans are implemented, complete IMT Monthly meeting/review, conduct/participate in TableTop exercises as directed by the Security Manager and conduct all new hire and quarterly storewide training
  • Manage the alarm response protocol, respond to after-hour alarms as necessary
  • Develop and maintain an ongoing liaison with law enforcement, contract guard and other retail security agencies

Manage, develop and train security staff

  • Work with the Security Manager to utilise Performance Management and ensure that departmental and individual goals are achieved for your store
  • Work with the Security Manager to set goals and measures of performance for each security officer
  • In conjunction with the Security Manager complete security officer appraisals with input from branch management
  • Continually partner with branch management to assess progress and develop performance plans
  • Manage performance of the branch officers, including completing and delivering security officer PMP, coaching and managing performance as necessary in partnership with branch management
  • Coordinate new hire officer training with the Security Training School
  • Coordinate and conduct all follow-up training
  • Manage the contract guard programme , liaise with the contract provider to address shortfalls in cover or standards of performance, ensure that all contract officers are familiar with their daily tasks and all relevant TCO procedures
  • Maintain salary, overtime and contract guard costs within annual profit plan

Cross functional teaming

  • Establish and maintain an open line of communication between branch management, the Security Manager and other relevant departments such as operations, facilities, HR, PR.
  • Partner with the HR when recruiting for open positions and during any progressive disciplinary actions
  • Work with retail management to ensure and maintain the highest standards of merchandise presentation standards through training , monitoring and follow up
  • Conduct monthly security awareness/training presentations to the store

Special Assignments

  • Perform special assignments such as Loss Prevention initiatives and Security Review Checklists as directed by the Security Manager
