Job Description
What will you be doing?
We're seeking a talented individual to join our Private Client Tax team in Newcastle, which is responsible for managing the compliance and tax advice process for a client allocation. Supervise tax staff, assisting with client work and deal with technical and administrative issues.
As an Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include among others
- Prepare tax returns and in some cases review tax returns
- Manage HMRC enquiries and draft or review HMRC correspondence
- Responsibility for compliance work on clients and monitor time limits and elections for compliance portfolio
- Prepare complex tax computations and supervise preparation of simple tax computations
- Prepare reports for clients in relation ad hoc advisory matters
- Responsible for billing and monitoring budgets
- Knowledge share and maintain technical knowledge by attending internal training sessions
- Ensure relevant client deadlines are met and S&W procedures are adhered to
- Assist the partners with fee quotes and growing the business
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should:
- ATT qualified
- Knowledge of Private Client and Partnership Tax and some planning experience
- Strong IT skills including practical knowledge of Microsoft Office packages; Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Good written communication skills are necessary to draft correspondence with clients and HMRC to explain technical issues in an easily understandable manner.
- Must have good inter-personal skills to be able to liaise with clients and other staff members

- Evidence of managing a small client portfolio
