Job Description

What will you be doing?

We're seeking a talented individual to join our Forensics team in London.

As an Assistant Manager in the Forensics team, you will be responsible for working on various forensic assignments as assigned by the Partner/Manager, as well as undertaking general tasks and client work for the wider department. The Assistant Manager will assist with analysis and statistical work, drafting of reports and assisting with client engagement.

As Assistant Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Initial review and understanding of case with a Partner / Manager.
  • Carrying out analysis of financial documents such as bank statements / financial statements.
  • Draft emails setting out findings from the analysis conducted, and assist in preparation of reports, where applicable.
  • Attend client meetings and telephone calls, where necessary, taking detailed notes.
  • Review of reports and calculations for Managers / Partners, to provide Quality Control.
  • Document review.
  • Assist more junior team members, such as placement students and interns.
  • Maintain timesheets on a regular basis and awareness of case budget.
  • Assist in client onboarding, setup, and preparing fee notes for clients.
  • Liaison with clients and other necessary organisations.
  • Attend networking events relevant for role.

As you develop and progress into the role, you will have increasing responsibility with the following:

  • Considering approach on each case in conjunction with the Manager
  • Reaching conclusions on cases in conjunction with the Manager.
  • Supervising more junior members of staff, training and reviewing their work, commenting constructively on their performance.
  • BD activity with specified targets - attendance at conferences, marketing events, seminars and lunches.
  • Assist with larger assignments, preparing reports and calculations.

Job Profile

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (desirable)
  • Forensic Experience ideal
  • Report writing skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • Ability to communicate with clients
  • Ability to recognise and analyse the issues in a case and plan a practical approach
  • Attention to detail and clarity of thought
  • Calm and able to work well in a pressurised environment with the ability to prioritise work
  • Networking/BD skills

Key competencies:

  • Analytical thinking: able to review information, plan an approach and see any potential problems which may arise.
  • Judgement: able to reach a conclusion on the information available and know how to deal with problems that arise and when to ask for guidance.
  • Planning and Organising: able to prioritise effectively and ensure that deadlines and timetables are met.
  • Communication: able to communicate effectively with the wider team, as well as solicitors & clients, where applicable.
  • Client focus: able to build and maintain good relationships with clients. Have a high level of general commercial awareness.
  • Teamwork: able to work effectively in a team in order that deadlines are met, build a good relationship with the whole team, be flexible and show willingness to help others.
  • Enthusiasm: show willingness to learn and assist more senior members of the team.
