The A&M Valuations Group ("Valuations") is comprised of former Big Four professionals who provide the highest quality valuation services to clients. Our ambition is to have the best people, providing the highest quality services to the best clients.
We are building both our Business Valuations and Plant & Equipment valuations teams across Australia and are looking for highly regarded and experienced valuations professionals to join us.
A&M Valuations works with clients in various sectors, complementing A&M's strong Transaction Advisory Group, Performance Improvement and Tax practices. We actively support clients in various sectors with valuations of businesses, equity, intangible assets and specialised plant & equipment.
Our team provides valuations for a range of purposes including tax, financial reporting, transactions, insurance and commercial purposes. Our services include valuations of unlisted assets for fund reporting, valuations post-acquisition (tax consolidation / stamp duty / acquisition accounting, i.e. "PPA") and independent expert's reports.

Assistant Manager / Executive - Expression of Interest
$79,650 + Super + Bonus to $94,170 + Super + Bonus
We are looking for people to:
- Deliver the highest quality valuation work.
- Display technical and commercial acumen to support clients with a range of valuation requirements.
- Take responsibility for valuation analysis, research and report writing.
- Support the Managing Directors originate client work, assisting with the preparation of proposals, responses to clients and preparation of thought leadership and go-to-market materials.
- Assistant Managers to support the development of junior team members.
- Participate in meetings and conference calls with company management and with client personnel with respect to project and execution matters. This may include participating in site inspections for plant & equipment asset valuations.
- Manage and prioritise assigned responsibilities and proactively consult with internal stakeholders as appropriate.
- Assist with multiple chargeable and non-chargeable projects of varying size and complexity including business development.
- Work in a collaborative team to suggest and interrogate robust valuation approaches for a range of businesses and assets.
- Possess appropriate report writing skills to assist with preparing the valuation report.
- Build and review valuation models, being able to identify and interrogate key value drivers, and build sensitivity and scenario analysis.
- Prepare analysis of a valuation target's historical financial statements, including identifying drivers and trends.
- Prepare analysis of a valuation target's financial forecasts, including identifying drivers and risks.
- Prepare analysis of the valuation target's industry, including identifying and quantifying trends, and identifying key comparable companies.
- Prepare comparable / guideline company benchmarking data, including compiling and reviewing discount rate parameters, valuation multiples and macroeconomic inputs.
- Assist the engagement manager with engagement issues (e.g., billing, status updates, scope changes) including preparation of engagement letters, information request lists, etc.
- Consistently display a desire to take on more responsibility.
- Consistently display a considered and consultative approach to risk management.
What you will have to join the A&M team:
- Strong educational background, with a bachelor's or master's degree in finance and/or related major
- CA or CFA certification preferred (for business valuations), or progress towards CPV accreditation (for plant & equipment valuations)
- Big Four experience will be viewed favourably, but is not essential
- Ability to travel within the country (where practical and possible)
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills required.
- For business valuations: experience with industry-standard research tools (such as CapitalIQ) required.
- Experience with data analytics and visualisation software (i.e., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
- The ideal candidate for the Assistant Manager position will have at least 3 years professional experience, including at least 2 years valuation experience. The ideal candidate for the Executive position will have at least 1 year valuation experience
- The successful candidate will be ranked a top performer in her or his peer group and furthermore, driven to success, a self-starter, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. The individual will be insightful, decisive, a critical thinker and commercial. Further, the individual will be able to work well in teams however will develop the knowledge and maturity to work with our clients independently.
