Job Title: Asset Manager - Solar
Report To: Senior Asset Manager
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Engineering, Science or math degree or equivalent
- 3-5 years' experience in solar farm asset management activities.
- Experience with remote monitoring systems on plant and equipment (preferably Solar)
- Experience in interpreting mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, work instructions, and design reviews.
- Advanced Excel Skills (understanding of macros, visual basic, Python or SQL would be advantageous)
Desirable Qualifications Skills and Experience:
- Contract/Budget management
- IOSH managing safely or other H&S qualifications (HV awareness, WTSR's)
- Wind/battery, O&M, Construction or consultancy experience will be considered a plus.
Purpose of the Asset Manager - Solar Role:
To manage a number of solar assets / SPVs by ensuring best practice for safety, quality and environmental performance, whilst enhancing the overall returns and value of each project and complying with all of the applicable contractual agreements.
You will manage asset management activities carried out on the project; this will involve working with the different departments within Bluefield and also working with external contractors, landlords, advisers and stakeholders to provide a solid asset management function across all of Bluefield's assets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Management of the contracts of the SPVs and ongoing activities to ensure that all assets are in compliance with:
- Statutory requirements for Health, Safety and Environmental performance,
- Local planning authority requirements,
- Grid company connection conditions and power purchase agreements,
- Other agreements in place.
Optimise project performance:
- Monitor contractor performance during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with a view to ensuring all contracted SLA's are met or bettered,
- Review and enhance maintenance strategies and activities with a view to reducing down time,
- Review regular and other reporting provided by the contractors and ensure any issues are being suitably addressed,
- Build strong relationships with contractors,
- Direct supervision of sub-contractors or overseeing the work of management contractors where required,
- Identify and establish the necessary KPIs to monitor the performance of each asset.
Identify equipment faults, carry out diagnoses and troubleshooting activities with support from O&M or the Monitoring Team towards remedying operational problems
Prepare regular asset management reports on each asset.
Be the primary Ofgem contact person for the managed assets.
Visit company sites to assess status and conditions of the solar farm; maximum of 4 per year per project.
Manage:
- Spare parts and strategies with aim to reduce risk and downtimes;
- Insurance claims
- Warranty claims
- Review of site performance calculations;
- Ad-hoc performance analysis
- Recording and review of key deadlines under project contracts, together with contract tendering and renewal, including DC/DA/MOP contracts, Warranty extensions, O&M/OEM SLA's.
- Scheduling and co-ordination of Planned preventative maintenance to optimise performance and minimise risk
- Site OPEX and Capex budgets and forecasting
- Site strategies
- Site specific projects and major works
- Maintenance of Operating Plans, Asset Registers and other management tools as necessary.
Maintain data security and confidentiality by using information within the parameters of the job role, any applicable SLAs, the company data policies and / or privacy notices and the statutory guidelines set out within the GDPR and any associated UK legislation. Pay particular regard to any data that is generated by CCTV or that may be classified as personal data.
Comply with all required fire, health and safety requirements for the environment in which you are working, including making yourself aware of the current applicable policies and risk assessments and acting accordingly, and attending any required training.
Any other reasonable task as requested by a Manager, Partner or Director of the business.
Interactions within Bluefield:
- Communicate information as required within the team
- Collaborate with other teams within the Bluefield Group as necessary.
- Attend team meetings, company meetings, handover meetings, portfolio and investment meetings and appraisals as required
Job Location:
Bristol Central and frequent UK travel. Hybrid working available - minimum 3 days in office per week.
There may be opportunities to travel overseas on occasion and this may be required for training purposes.
You are required to visit company sites within the UK and Europe; this requires you to be able to drive.
Hours of Work:
37 ½ hours per week, Monday to Friday 9:00 am until 5:30 pm.
