Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within the cancer services department for an Assistant Cancer Services manager. This is a new role within the department following a recent management of change.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide management to the cancer services office, and will ideally have good engagement and project management skills.The ideal candidate will have experience of working within cancer services and will have a recognised management qualification or equivalent experience.

Qualifications & Education

Essential

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development in related field
  • Post-Graduate Qualification or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Recognised Management Qualification or equivalent experience
  • PRINCE 2, and/or other project management qualification

Knowledge and Training

Essential

  • Knowledge and Training Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work to time-pressured deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to use, adapt and develop IT systems/produce reports and spreadsheets
  • Evidence of achievement of milestones and targets to tight deadlines
  • Proficient in the use of all MS Office programmes and IT skills, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe and Excel
