About the role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Service Manager to oversee the delivery of catering and beverage services across the College, including formal dining, cafeteria service, the Senior Common Room, Junior Common Room Bar, and College events for a period of 6-12 weeks.

This is a hands-on role responsible for supervising service, managing and training staff, coordinating rotas and events, maintaining high standards of food service, and ensuring compliance with health & safety, food hygiene and licensing regulations. The role also includes administrative duties, stock and financial processes, and supporting sustainability initiatives.

Working hours are on a shift basis between 7am and 10pm, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

About You:

  • Experience in hospitality or catering management
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of formal dining, food and beverage service
  • Understanding of food hygiene, health & safety and licensing laws
  • Good IT and communication skills
