Residential Childcare Assistant Home Manager
Grade 8

Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people within residential care and have a passion for working with children and young people from a position of leadership within our homes? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join Newport City Council's residential service leadership team.

As an Assistant Home Manager, you will be responsible for the daily provision of a home for young people, inclusive of the providing supervision, co-ordinating a rota, resourcing and budgetary accountabilities required of an effective specialist service. You will take the lead in delivering a home's statement of purpose and ensure that each child and young person is
provided with a safe and caring home environment.

You will be a resilient practitioner with a strong commitment to working therapeutically and restoratively with children and young people. Being highly motivated and conscientious, you will exhibit the capacity for independent decision making and risk assessment.

You will implement systems and procedures designed to promote positive outcomes for children and young people with complex needs, ensuring a flexible, proactive approach whilst meeting the desired outcomes of the people we support.
