MG Cannon Dorchester, powered by Steer Automotive, is seeking a capable Assistant Bodyshop Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our bodyshop and help drive exceptional service and quality repairs.

About the Role:

As Assistant Bodyshop Manager, you'll work closely with the Bodyshop Manager to ensure efficient and organized operations. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Team Coordination: Support the management team in overseeing bodyshop staff and ensuring a productive daily workflow.
  • Job Allocation: Set up job cards, assign tasks to team members, and help manage schedules to maximize productivity.
  • Quality Control: Ensure health and safety compliance and conduct regular checks to maintain quality standards.
  • Customer and Insurer Communication: Act as a key liaison with customers, insurers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth service and satisfaction.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, update job cards, and facilitate effective communication across departments.

About You:

We are looking for an individual with experience in a supervisory or administrative role within an automotive bodyshop. Key qualities include:

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage teams and provide excellent customer care.
  • Organisational Abilities: Strong planning skills to meet deadlines and adhere to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Attention to Detail: Dedication to upholding high standards in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Team Player: Adaptable and collaborative, able to work independently or as part of a team.
