Sheffield City Council are investing in our residential services and we provide consistent, good quality care through 9 children's homes across the City Council. Our homes provide an environment where young people feel happy to live.

We are looking to appoint a full time Assistant managers at Aldine House Secure Children's Home. As an Assistant Manager you will be committed to providing the highest standards of care to our young people. You will provide care for the most vulnerable in our society and you will have knowledge of trauma informed practice, social pedagogy and person-centred approach to inform practice; We as a team we work continuously to improve the quality of our Children's homes, ensuring our young people have every opportunity to thrive and develop.

We are licensed to provide care, education and support to ten children and young people aged between 10 and 18. As a specialist service, we provide a critical first-line child protection and public protection service.

Our children and young people need highly skilled, resilient and committed people who can build appropriate safe relationships and support them on their journey to a positive future and enabling our children realise their full potential.

We work with young people who have been placed in secure accommodation either because they are deemed to be too vulnerable to be placed in an open residential placement, they have been sentenced by the courts or they have been placed with us on remand.

Due to the trauma each child has been through this presents a distinct and significant challenge to our team who work together to build positive, safe and secure relationships and help young people make progress in all aspects of their life. All of our team are required to show high levels of resilience and resourcefulness in order to work successfully with our young people.

Our team provide positive, boundaried parenting that is entirely child-centred. We are moving to more therapeutically informed parenting and want like minded individuals to join us on our journey.

You must hold the Level 3 Children and Young people's Workforce Diploma and Social Care Pathway (England) 2015. More information on the role can be found within the Job and Person profile

As part of the Centre's Operational Management Team you will act as Duty or On Call manager on a rota basis.

As an Assistant Manager at Aldine House, you will receive continuous training and ongoing professional development and support to enable you to become an outstanding practitioner.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
