Salary: Up to £40,000

Location: Green Lane, Walsall (Hybrid - typically 3 days per week in the office)

Are you an accomplished insurance professional seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity? We invite you to join our team as an Assistant Insurance Manager on a permanent, full-time basis. Located in Walsall, with the benefit of hybrid working arrangements. This is a varied role supporting the insurance manager with everything ranging from day-to-day queries, claims, to renewal of the groups insurance programme.

The Role:
• Support the insurance renewal process, including designing the marketing brochure, collecting and submitting data, working with all group companies to identify insurable risks, placing the programme, and allocating charges across all group companies. Work with insurers/brokers on scope, cover, and premiums as appropriate.
• Identify new insurable risks due to changes within the business, acquisitions, and sales, and make recommendations for effective risk management. Report to insurers/brokers, as necessary.
• Manage insurance-related claims from start to finish that are not handled by brokers/insurers. For claims handled by brokers/insurers, manage the notification process, liaise with insurers/brokers and group clients, and personally manage significant complex insurance claims and major incidents.
• Provide guidance and support to the business on all aspects of insurance, including responding to insurance queries, performing contract reviews, and handling other insurance-related queries from clients.
• Build and maintain relationships with insurers, brokers, legal advisors, and internal stakeholders across the business.
• Ensure that all claims data is accurately recorded on the insurance systems.
• Draft and implement policies and procedures.

What You'll Need:
• Experience in insurance (we are open to insurer, broker, and in-house insurance backgrounds).
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in advising on general classes of insurance, including but not limited to liability, motor, property, D&O.
• Experience in a regulated environment is desirable but not essential.
• People management skills.
• Commercially minded with detailed knowledge of common covers such as Property, Liability, and Motor.
• A flexible, can-do approach to relevant issues, acting promptly to ensure situations are dealt with appropriately, effectively, and professionally.
• A well-organised approach to work, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure, coping with varying workloads, urgent projects, and deadlines.
• A methodical approach with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ideally, a background in customer service.
