About the Role:
As an inclusive, forward thinking business, we take pride in our approach to bird welfare across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Assistant Hatchery Manager to join our hatchery team, based in Caynham, Ludlow
Location Requirement: Applicants must reside within a 15-minute commute of the site.
Purpose of the role:
As an Assistant Hatchery Manager, you will provide support to the hatchery manager in ensuring the efficient operation of the hatchery and effective management of the team.

Hours of work
06:00 - 15:30 plus on call
Your key responsibilities as an Assistant Hatchery Manager will include:
• Assisting in the day to day operation of the hatchery.
• Influencing, coaching and developing staff.
• Helping maintain effecting maintenance and hygiene schedules.
• Maintaining the smooth running of the hatchery.
• Helping to plan and update the transport rota.
• Hands on involvement with hatchery tasks where required.
• Taking part in the on-call rota for alarm calls and bird checks.
• Covering for the Hatchery Manager during absence or leave.
What we are looking for:
• Good knowledge of avian incubation and embryology.
• A track record of motivating and engaging staff.
• Strong communication skills with staff of all levels.
• Proficiency using Microsoft office including Excel.
