Job summary

The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children is delighted to be able to offer a a permanent opportunity for the role of Assistant General Manager for Children's Specialised Services. This is a full-time 8a role based in the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

This role includes a range of clinical specialties including Paediatric Cardiac Services, Neurosciences, Intensive care & high dependency services.

This is a challenging and interesting role and we are looking for an exceptional individual, who wants to consolidate their skills and experience. Key requirements for the role are: excellent interpersonal skills; significant experience of NHS operational management; a good understanding of the broader NHS system and political environment; service improvement and change management experience and a passion for high quality, compassionate care.

The successful candidate will be organised, self-motivated and resilient. They will need to have excellent understanding of performance management and significant experience of delivering objectives in a challenging health care environment. In return, the candidate will have the opportunity to gain meaningful experience, autonomy, and personal development in a rewarding hospital environment.

Main duties of the job

The role operates within a complex and challenging environment and we are seeking an exceptional individual with a broad range of skills and experience to work closely with the General Manager. The post-holder will need to be enthusiastic and resilient. The role will be busy and provide a rewarding mix of operational and strategic management, service improvement and performance management. Good clinical engagement will be critical to your success and commitment to providing high quality patient care.
