Job Description

The role of Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is crucial in supporting the Food and Beverage Manager in overseeing the food & beverage operations of three dining establishments and a large conference and banqueting operation. The Conference and Banqueting department includes ten meeting rooms, one of which can accommodate up to 600 guests. The hotel often hosts large corporate and leisure events, which this position is also accountable for.

The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will act as a crucial link between the food and beverage management team and associates, facilitating smooth communication and operational efficiency. They will also strive towards achieving company financial goals such as department gross profits, labour budget, employee productivity, and ensuring an excellent guest experience. The role requires flexible working hours, covering any five out of seven days on a shift basis, which includes evenings, early mornings, and weekends. The Assistant Manager will also cover duty manager shifts on a rotating basis.

Job Requirements

  • Effectively manage the Food & Beverage Team.
  • Assist with recruitment process and associate onboarding experience.
  • Effectively manage the daily operations of the food & beverage department including restaurants, staffing and conference & banqueting.
  • Administer and plan rotas and holidays to meet business needs and wage control.
  • Assist with Food and Beverage orders and deliveries, ensuring liquor control and stock is strictly maintained at all times.
  • Display a pro-active and consistent approach to beverage costings.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety and Hygiene guidance.
  • Carry out departmental training, appraisals and probationary reviews
  • Strive towards exceeding guest expectations
  • Follow the LEARN method of guest complaint handling
  • Support the overall objectives of the food and beverage department in terms of, revenue, costs and teamwork.
  • Take a proactive role in duty management shifts.
