Our Private Capital team brings to together a highly-skilled and diverse team who advise on a range on tax issues across the private market. The specialisms within our team provide a touch point across all aspects of the private market to ensure we can serve our clients, and their capital, in a holistic manner. Our core offering ranges from personal tax advice for high-net worth individuals, servicing both UK and overseas family offices and trust structures, through to corporate tax advice for privately and family-owned businesses.
The team is now looking to recruit an Assistant Director into the team focusing on corporate tax in Manchester. The ideal candidates will have experience working with privately-owned businesses and their stakeholders. The team is currently spread across London, Manchester and Glasgow and has developed into a close knit and supportive group who are committed to delivering exceptional client services.
What Will You Be Doing?
As an Assistant Director within Private Capital, you will:
- Build trusted client relationships through demonstration of a working knowledge of client businesses and spend time developing a deep understanding of client needs and strategic priorities.
- Leverage the internal A&M network to bring the best of A&M to your clients to align with their needs.
- Assume responsibility for the preparation/review of technical client deliverables that are concise, coherent and address the technical elements impacting the client. In an advisory-led team, common deliverables include tax step plans and reports covering group reorganisations, demergers, cash extraction and refinancing activity.
- Oversee A&M work regarding the compliance and reporting cycle (eg corporation tax provisions and returns for privately-held corporate clients).
- Take a key role in business development within the local market through continued development of your intermediary and business network; attend local events and participate in A&M led events.
- Clearly communicate work plans, project objectives, and timelines to multidisciplinary project teams.
- Provide leadership, develop, mentor, and motivate our team members by actively participating in their advancement through on-the-job training, providing performance feedback, counseling, and fostering our team-based atmosphere.
- Manage multiple projects, client engagements and budgets simultaneously and efficiently.
- Manage your client billing, WIP and cash collection schedule.

Qualifications:
- ACA and/or CTA qualified
- At least five years' experience in UK corporate tax supporting businesses held by entrepreneurs, HNWI, family offices etc.
- Early establishment of professional network in the region
- Prior proven experience leading and managing work streams and mentoring junior staff
- Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to establish credibility and influence clients
- Ability to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlines
- High motivation to learn and grow
