WSP's PMCM's Rail Division are actively seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager to work across our diverse portfolio of projects and provide commercial leadership to our multi-disciplinary project teams delivering a huge range of complex infrastructure for clients including Network Rail, TfL, LUL, HS2 and Crossrail.
Your role will be to support the business embed a strong project culture around commercial excellence, balanced with the need to satisfy client, staff and commercial expectations along with business operational performance. You'll be collaborative and a natural problem solver.
We are looking for people with the ability to make a difference, pro-actively manage requirements and risks and influence others to deliver successfully. Candidates must have excellent communication, problem solving and demonstrable experience in engineering management within Rail.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and deliver commercial management services to both internal and external clients across a variety of rail infrastructure schemes.
- Providing risk and commercial advice during the bid and project lifecycle to assess performance and provide support to the wider business.
- Supporting the commercial strategies on bids.
- With support from the finance team provide effective reporting and forecasting of the commercial performance of projects within the Rail business.
- Carrying out detailed analyses of projects and report on the issues and findings from both a commercial and financial perspective.
- Ensuring changes are managed rigorously with a focus on commercial implications of change, manage commercial risk and opportunity generally.
- Ensuring that activities meet both internal company standards and external requirements.
- Supporting the commercial team's business improvement initiatives.
You will join a team of professionally qualified, diverse, talented individuals who collaborate to:
- Undertake project work from across the design lifecycle, including early concept stage to detail design
- Deliver projects for Network Rail, HS2, Transport for The North, TfGM, Nexus, Local Authorities, Principal Contractors and Private Developers.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Relevant Post Graduate experience.
- Good working knowledge of NEC 3/4 Contract Administration.
- Good report production and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
