Job title: Assistant Commercial Manager

Salary: £45,000 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- This role is to work directly for the Central Services Commercial Lead specifically ensuring that the Commercial governance requirements are met and appropriately audited, whilst exploring opportunities for continuous improvement and ensuring consistency of approach across the business. This will require the candidate to work closely with our wider Commercial team, Group Commercial and other functions
- Being able to support a variety of activities, including Business Reporting, learning & development, governance and tools for the whole of the Commercial function
- Ensuring that the business operates within Commercial framework/processes
- Being able to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with both internal and external
Your skills and experiences:
- Proven experience in operational commercial environments, delivering impactful results
- Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of overall business operations
- In-depth knowledge of commercial principles and practices, and how the commercial function drives organizational success
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, comfortable working in a hybrid environment and independently driving objectives
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, SAP, and Business Dynamics (preferred)
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels

The Central Services team:
The Central Services commercial team comprises of 3 commercial professionals of all grades and experience who provide valued and trusted business advice to the wider commercial team focusing on people, process and tools. The team is a close-knit supportive team that also has the benefit of reach back into the wider commercial community within the global BAE Systems Corporation that also presents unrivalled opportunities for career development and growth.
The Central Services team are involved in many different aspects of the Commercial Function and the wider business, with their primary role being to support the Commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to understand the wider business, increase your business acumen and help shape the function.
