- £39,513 per annum (pro rata for part time)
- 37 hours per week - Flexible working options available
- Fixed Term or Secondment to 27 March 2026 (maternity cover)

Within Adult Social Care (ASC) the Service Development and Contract teams work to realise ASC strategic priorities with its suppliers and delivery partners. This includes the Brokerage Team, whose main function is to source care services for people who have been identified with an eligible need. The team is the contact point for Social Care placement in Suffolk, operating across Adult Social Care. The team liaise with providers, social care and health staff to work effectively to manage and reduce the waiting time for people who need their next intervention of care.
Your role and responsibilities
- to lead and manage the Brokerage Team, within ASC to deliver an effective service for Suffolk County Council
- line managing, supporting, and motivating the staff within this service during periods of change, to ensure continued delivery of high quality, affordable services are delivered and meeting targets within the broader remit of the team(s) and directorate
- to work closely with Hospital discharge, Service Development and Contract teams, Social Workers, and Homefirst to promote timely discharges, reduce demand and implement cost savings and deliver improved outcomes for customers.
You will need
- a relevant graduate or post graduate qualification (i.e., related to the business). Relevant management experience in social policy or public services and/or significant commissioning/contract management / service delivery experience.
- extensive knowledge of 21st Century Manager skills framework and have ability to support their team members, enabling them to be agile and successful in a changing and complex environment
- insight into the pressures of hospital discharge procedures and escalation measures for health pathways.
