About The Role
Responsible for: The managing and maintenance of the football programme for the academy, and assisting the academy manager in any duties they deem appropriate in line with their job description
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure academy coaching plan is aligned to the Swindon Town Football Club Philosophy
- Work with academy head of coaching to develop the Academies playing philosophy, coaching philosophy and coaching curriculum in line with the Head of Footballs vision
- Assist in the delivery of the technical board
- Support decisions relating to retain and release, scholarship offers and offers of professional contracts.
- Assist the Academy Manager in creating an academy recruitment policy.
- Oversee the development of academy players ensuring all players maximise their potential & develop pathways to produce 1st team players.
- Help Develop, implement and drive the academy performance plan.
- Support heads of departments in carrying out their managerial responsibilities
- Work closely with other Heads of Department within the club
- Comply with all company policies/procedures. Adhere to all company regulations regarding policies, procedures, health, safety & security
- All other duties that may arise from time to time and fall within the scope of this position
- Support the Academy Manager with the tracking of the academy budget and expenditure
- Alongside the Head of Coaching evaluate the coach competency framework ensuring alignment within the academy
- Support all academy audit processes to secure the academies category 3 status
About The Candidate
Qualifications:
Essential:
FA Level 4 (Uefa A) in Coaching Football
Advanced Youth Award
FA Safeguarding Certificate
Desirable:
Coaching/Teaching/Sports Science related degree
Experience & Skills:
Prior experience working within a category 2 or 3 Academy
Experience of working in a high performance environment
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
Understanding of safeguarding and welfare requirements of a category 3 academy
