About the Role

Base Location: Flexible UK | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots around the UK.

Salary:up to £94,400 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

As part of the Asset Management function within SSEN Distribution you will lead and manage a team of professional Asset Standards Engineers to develop specifications and standards to optimise the procurement, installation, inspection, maintenance, operation, replacement and decommissioning of our SSEN assets.

- Lead, engage, develop and manage the team in accordance with the SSE Leadership Blueprint. Give clear direction to the team and engage them in building a proud team developing and owning the delivery of plans to get to the desired state.

- Provide Technical Authority from the team to lead and report on asset failure/defect investigations.

- The successful candidate is required to develop thinking to improve resilience in our teams and ensure that competent engineers with the appropriate qualifications and experience are employed.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Proven ability to lead a team of technical staff.

- Excellent planning and organisational skills.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal and engagement skills

- Ability to deliver within challenging timescales, the ability to effectively prioritise, plan and organise, balance immediate and longer term business priorities.

- Change management experience relating to implementing new specifications and standards.
