Asset Manager and Valuer- Hybrid Working

An exciting and rare opportunity has become available within our organisation. Offering you the opportunity to be at the heart of managing Avon and Somerset's police estate.

Providing asset valuation and management expertise to the Constabulary which includes: all property, land and building valuation work; the development of informed, data driven asset management plans and acquisition/disposal strategies; and the management and oversight of leasehold tenancies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To lead in the negotiation of all matters relating to freehold and leasehold acquisitions, disposal of property, valuations, landlord and tenant matters, easements, wayleaves, rights of way boundary and ownership disputes.
  • To undertake statutory valuations of assets for accounting purposes.
  • Prepare reports and estimates for submission to committees, Chief Officers and external parties on all aspects of land and property matters.
  • To ensure efficient and timely financial processes are maintained with respect to payments associated with leasehold properties, tenancies, balancing charges and debt recovery.

What do you need:

  • Hold full membership of the RICS (Valuation) conforming to the professional codes of practice.
  • Experience of undertaking land and building inspections and property reviews
  • Experience of undertaking statutory valuations
  • Experience of negotiating all matters relating to estates and assets
  • You will be required to travel in this role, therefore holding a full UK driving licence would be required.

The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work from home whilst also at a secondary work location, which will be a police premises. The successful applicant will have the option to discuss working arrangements with their line manager. All applicants must reside within the UK.
