Job Title: Arts Programme & Partnerships Manager, Richmond Arts Service

Salary Range: PO3 £40,854 - £49,503

Permanent

Full Time: 36 Hours

Location: London Borough of Richmond upon Thames

About the role

Richmond Arts Service fosters creativity and enjoyment of the arts, enabling people to reflect on their lives and develop new ways of seeing the world. We bring experimental engaging art to the borough and provide strategic leadership for the local authority, ensuring that local people benefit from a vibrant arts ecology.

We're an ambitious team. Since creating a new service vision three years ago we've done some significant work.

Our work has included Cultural Reforesting, an arts programme which is instigating community-led adaptations to the ecological crisis across the borough. We are commissioning artists through on-going research, multi-disciplinary projects, participatory events, and artworks, working with cultural and science partners as well as service across the council.

Richmond Arts and Ideas Festival is one on London's newest festivals, bringing artists from all over the world to work with communities and artists in West London.

We've created a vibrant public programme at Orleans House Gallery, working with artists Himali Singh Soin, Dexter McLean, Something & Son, Phoebe Boswell and Gary Stewart as well as with creative practitioners who live and work in the borough.

But we want to do more, and our Arts Programme & Partnerships Manager is pivotal to the success of the service.

This is where you come in.

We want you to build strong local, national, and international partnerships, lead the team responsible for the creation and delivery of the programme and make sure our work is visible and engaging.

You'll need to know about current best practice in cultural development and creative programming, and how to use evidence to deepen and broaden engagement. You'll also need to know how to get the best out of creative teams, as well as understanding key issues relating to procuring, commissioning, contracting, and developing audiences. Above all you want to make a difference to the artists and communities we work with

Agile Working

Orleans House Gallery, where the arts service is based, is a beautiful and creative working environment. We make it a welcoming space and expect staff to be on site on a regular basis to be part of the team and to get to know our visitors. That said we care about how you work and what you achieve, rather than where you work on any given day. The difference you can make to our artists and local communities is what really matters most to us. We recognise the importance of a good balance between work and home life and offer everything we can to accommodate flexible working.

Your development

Supporting people to develop and learn is at the heart of our work and we believe it is vital that we offer this opportunity to our own staff. We have resources to enable this and expect our people to spend time on their own development, to connect with the sector and progress.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

You will have

Experience of managing innovative and complex public-facing creative programmes, with multiple partners

Experience of audience development including the diversification of audiences and strategic planning around Marketing & Communications

Experience of financial management including income generation from trusts and foundations as well as other sources

Experience of working with senior leaders and /or politicians, including the management of 'political' and sensitive matters
