We are looking for an Area Quality Manager to support the delivery of civil engineer projects across our Northern England region, giving expert advice in all areas of quality management across our projects. Your mission

As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Promote quality management ethos, principles and concepts focusing on continual improvement and Lean thinking throughout the company and within our supply chain.
  • Ensure that project execution plans meet the relevant quality standards, for example regulatory and company standards and that suitable PEPs are in place for each new project.
  • Provide support and guidance to projects in the preparation and effective use of inspection and test plans.
  • Provide support and guidance on the preparation and implementation of handback planning and documented assurance information.
  • Provide monthly reporting to the Quality and Improvement Lead for Civils.
  • Review NCR data for the projects and present analysis and recommendations.
  • Lead the identification of projects for inclusion in the area audit programme.
  • Provide support as and when required to company auditor(s).
  • Seek advice from Quality and Improvement Lead in developing, implementing and maintaining collaborative, framework and joint-venture management systems.
  • Attend start-up / handover meetings from the pre-construction team to project team.
  • Attend project close out meetings and gather feedback / lessons learned in feedback format and pass to Quality and Improvment Lead for Civils.
  • Communicate and promote the company management system to staff.
  • Identify areas for improvement and support requirements and submit to QI Lead for consideration.
  • Identify, communicate and share good practice and feedback.
  • Promote the review of project execution plan(s) and divisional/departmental management plans.
  • Deliver training activities in management systems and related technical topics.
  • Lead, co-ordinate, coach and develop quality staff within the Company.
  • Support the work-winning process.
  • Carry out other relevant duties from time to time

Who are we looking for?

The following are mandatory requirements:

  • Direct experience of planning, implementing, monitoring and improvement of quality management systems.
  • IRCA lead auditor qualified.
  • Able to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Experience in coaching and developing others.
  • Proficient in the application and use of information technology.

The following are desirable requirements:

  • Working knowledge of digital construction applications, platforms and practices.
  • Experience in the implementation of Lean construction practices and techniques.
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Experience of working with quality management systems, preferably in construction.
  • Civil engineering experience
