Apprentice Project Manager - Leeds

About The Role
Currie & Brown is looking for an apprentice project Manager to join our Leeds office.
The successful candidate will work on some of the most exciting construction projects and join a team delivering benefits and a lasting legacy for the communities in which we live and work. You will be given training and development opportunities so you can develop and support project leaders in generating a high standard of knowledge across service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.
The successful applicant will attend university 1 day per week to gain a degree in quantity surveying, while working in the office. You will therefore need to have the prerequisite school or college qualifications to gain entry onto a university course to study a BSc quantity surveying degree.
Responsibilities will include:
- Producing detailed reports and recommendations
- Identifying defects and advising on remedial works
- Offering advice on proposed alterations, improvements and extensions
- Preparing budgets and schedules
- Advising on environmental and safety issues
- Meeting with clients and contractors to oversee progress
- Offering advice in relation to legal and planning issues
- Working on-site and in an office.
Requirements:
- Experience using Word, PowerPoint and Excel desired
- Ability to adapt, working independently and as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Aptitude to learn and have a strong desire to become a chartered project manager
- A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible
- Proactive in your approach to learning and working at the same time
