Role Purpose:

This role will is responsible for monitoring and analysis of the commercial performance across the National Lottery's Digital & Retail Channels, reviewing key performance indicating and finding opportunities to deliver our growth objectives. It will lead the management and analysis of digital channel performance in collaboration with other business stakeholders to fully understand the drivers and identify opportunities to drive further growth. This role will also support on the wider commercial planning and forecasting process, managing the provision of analysis to underpin future projections to meet our future growth ambitions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manages and prioritises the requirements and analysis approach for new requests from business stakeholders.
  • Responsible for proactively identifying new areas that require further analysis and insight in order to drive business decisions and future channel growth.
  • Responsible for managing and delivering new analysis to support the performance management and ongoing growth of the channel either individually, delegating within the team or through cross functional engagement with wider analytical teams across with the business.
  • Responsible for briefing new analysis / data requests to wider analytics teams, including Digital Player analytics, Business Intelligence and Consumer Insight teams
  • Responsible for developing regular monitoring / insight and communication of key performance trends through a range of businesses governance forums
  • Responsible for supporting the wider team with the development of our commercial planning and forecasting through provision of analysis activity to develop forecasting assumptions based on current and historic trends.
  • Responsible for creating presentations that effectively communicate the performance of the channel, key insight and proposed recommendations to Peers, Head of Departments and Directors.
  • Responsible for ensuring effective communication of analysis and performance trends through data visualisation and analysis techniques.
  • Manages relationship and future data requirements with Business Intelligence and Digital Factory teams
  • Responsible for managing a team of digital performance analysts to assess the performance of the channel using a range of analytics tools to identify and communicate commercial opportunities and risks, alongside briefing in depth analysis requests to the businesses data science and insight department.
  • Responsible for driving the upskilling of existing team members on current and future analytics tools.

Key Measures of Success:

  • Full understanding on the performance of the Digital channel and key drivers behind it whether changes in player behaviour, experience, product demand or marketing activity
  • Ability to quickly identify changes in performance trends and any new performance risks or opportunities
  • Wider business stakeholders have insight and supporting analysis readily available to quickly made business decisions to support commercial growth
  • Step change and develop the analytical capability within the team to improve the velocity of analysis and ability to drive business decisions

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in Online / eCommerce environment ideally within the Gambling and Gaming sector
  • Excellent data analysis skills and ability to work with large data sets, as well as strong commercial acumen with the ability to act on insight to drive actions and recommendations in a cross functional environment
  • Strong stakeholder management, verbal / written communication and influencing skills with ability to engage effectively with colleagues of different levels
  • Proven track record of creating analysis and recommendations that drive commercial growth in an eCommerce environment and working with multiple departments across Digital, Marketing and Product.
  • Highly numerate with experience of identifying performance trends and developing robust and detail analysis using Microsoft Excel
  • Proven track record of using a range analytics tools ideally but not limited to Adobe / Google Analytics, Power BI / Business Objects and SQL
  • Strong experience of effectively presenting analytical outputs and recommendations to a range of different stakeholders verbally and through the effective use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrable ability to construct logical thought processes, hypotheses, ideas and solutions when approaching a new requirement or analytical question
  • Proven track record of connecting different analysis, performance and consumer trends to assemble a clear hypothesis and understanding behind commercial performance
  • Proven track record of connecting insight, research and consumer understanding to assemble directional challenges or reinforcements. Strong capabilities in thinking differently to effect change.
  • Proven ability at working in a cross functional environment to develop cross business agenda.
  • Strong line management experience and ability to grow and develop wider team members.
  • Proven track record of working effectively in a rapidly changing and demanding environment.
