Job Description

This role involves identifying, shaping and delivery of airspace and air traffic management (ATM) solutions at Heathrow. Working within an experienced team, you will be responsible leading Heathrows delivery of ATM change projects. You will be working with NATS and other industry partners, suppliers and stakeholders to develop change projects from initial concept to final deployment. The Airspace and ATM solutions deployed will fulfil the business objectives of safety, environmental and service.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively ensuring that HAL Programme Direction, Solutions Leadership Team and wider senior leadership team have a clear understanding of evolving ATM projects, environmental obligations along with best practice approaches being deployed worldwide;
  • Creating, leading, managing, and delivering ATM or Airspace projects;
  • Representing the solutions business requirements to ensure effective delivery of capital projects or opex initiatives on time and to budget;
  • Building, maintaining, and influencing relationships with a broad range of internal & external stakeholders including NATS, airlines, CAA and DfT;
  • Acting as point of contact for CAA in relation to all ATM change matters;
  • Line management and leadership for direct reports;
  • Procurement & leadership of contracted organisations and personnel in relation to relevant projects;
  • Proactively advising and supporting the HAL Operations and Solutions leadership with opportunities, risks, and actions to drive business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of ATC, ATM, and airspace change including policy and regulatory requirements
  • A working knowledge of Air Traffic Management activities relevant to the safe operation at and near airports within the UK
  • Strong leadership skills to ensure stakeholders deliver outcomes that meet regulatory and operational requirements
  • Excellent team leader, who can both deliver independently and manage others to deliver
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, negotiating and communication skills, backed by sound analytical, strategic, and creative thinking
  • Experience of leading projects and project management processes
  • High-level exposure to national and international political and governmental processes with experience in policy development across aviation issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure, often to tight deadlines

Working Location

Our agile approach offers the opportunity to combine home working with meetings, events and training at the airport. All roles involve some on-site working each week, so you'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
