Job Description
This role will lead Airport Control and act as the key interface between Airport Control, Business Resilience and wider airport functions.
Responsibilities
- Leading and engaging the Airport Control team, driving structural change, deliver continuous improvement through a coaching leadership approach and a service focus ensuring consistency and standards are achieved.
- Playing a management role in shaping the future of Airport Operations and APOC strategies with wider airport initiatives to ensure delivery of a fully integrated approach to support the end-to-end passenger journey and shape the APOC of the future.
- Establishing strong and trusted working relationships whilst engaging with key stakeholders to help drive and embed change.
- Identifying opportunities for and drive delivery of future initiatives to help improve and sustain performance change within Airport Control.
- Collaboration with other functions to identify efficiencies or enhancements to operational processes.
Qualifications
- Demonstratable leadership and influencing skills to ensure deliverable and operational requirements.
- Proven experience leading a team to success, demonstrating ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
- Adaptable and able to work with ambiguity, resourcefulness, and flexibility all posed with a passion to succeed.
- Sound understanding of the Emergency services roles in airport emergencies.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.

The airport team includes colleagues from airlines, baggage handlers, control authorities, retailers, passenger services, emergency services, transport providers, security, engineering, airfield operations and more.
Our team are responsible for managing relationships with our partners, and coordinating day-to-day operational activities, including the Airport Operating Centre (APOC) operational plan.
Our purpose is to make every journey better and we work closely with our Team Heathrow Partners to achieve it. We do this by building trusted relationships with our partners, working to understand our shared goals and continually driving up standards across safety, operational and resilience performance. This demands close collaboration and communications, clear governance, working to quickly identify and to resolve shared issues that proactively deliver improvement across Heathrow and for our passengers.
