As an inclusive, forward thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our agricultural development and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Agricultural Development Manager to join our Agriculture team based in Tram Inn, Allensmore for a Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity leave.

Working Hours

The core hours for this role are Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:30.

Flexible hours can be considered for the right applicant.

What will your key responsibilities as an Agriculture Development Manager include?

  • Managing a development programme for new, expanding and refurbished rearing, breeder & broiler growers in line with the business strategy.
  • Keeping up to date with the planning and development of new poultry space and associated contracts.
  • Communicating with site contractors helping to manage project timelines.
  • Conducting regular site visits before and after completion dates.
  • Management of all internal Avara "agricultural" property matters which will include, leases, tenancies, grazing agreements, assured shorthold tenancy agreements for staff housing.
  • Assisting in the development of any new agricultural sites.
  • Collaborating with the Environment agency, planning office and consultants.
  • Responsibility for Environmental Permits for company owned farms.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Degree or equivalent in Land/Estate Management is desirable.
  • Previous agricultural experience.
  • Understanding of the agricultural planning process experience.
  • Proven effective communication and people skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to demonstrate drive.
  • Intermediate level of IT skills.
