Context
The Business Planner Inventory & Service Optimisation Manager (Cash Manager) is responsible for optimizing inventory levels, ensuring service excellence, and managing cash flow effectively. This role involves strategic planning, forecasting, and data analysis to balance inventory with service level goals while enhancing cash efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience in inventory management, and a deep understanding of financial and operational metrics.
Key Accountabilities:
Inventory Management:
- Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
- Monitor inventory performance metrics and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and production teams to ensure effective supply chain operations.
Service Optimization:
- Analyze service level performance and find opportunities for improvement.
- Implement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery.
- Balance inventory investment with service level objectives to achieve optimal results.
Cash Management:
- Develop cash flow forecasts and manage working capital to ensure liquidity.
- Monitor and analyse cash flow trends and variances, providing insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to optimize cash utilization and reduce financial risks.
Strategic Planning and Forecasting:
- Apply data analysis and forecasting techniques to support strategic business planning.
- Develop and maintain inventory and service optimization models.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track key performance indicators related to inventory, service levels, and cash management.
- Prepare and present regular reports on inventory performance, service optimization, and cash flow.
- Identify and address variances between actual performance and targets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with various departments, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to align inventory and service strategies with business objectives.
- Lead cross-functional projects aimed at improving inventory and service optimization processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant Qualifications in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in inventory management, service optimization, and cash management.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting tools (e.g., Excel, SQL).
- Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of financial and operational metrics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in inventory management or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP).
- Knowledge of advanced analytical techniques and supply chain optimization.
