The team

Our ITV Commercial team is responsible for bringing in the £2bn worth of advertising that helps fund ITV's programming. However, our Commercial team isn't just about advertising sales jobs, with an ever-changing marketplace and a multitude of new platforms just waiting for you to tap into, selling TV and online advertising & partnerships has never been so exciting.

The role

We are looking for 2 experienced AdVentures Business Managers to join our ITV Commercial team on a permanent basis in White City, London.

Since its creation in 2019, AdVentures has developed to become ITV's 'commercial incubator' for startup and scale-up businesses.
Whether a brand is testing TV advertising for the first time via our Ignite programme, scaling up with a media for equity partnership via our Invest fund, or simply looking to use television to grow in the most effective way, the supportive and strategy-led approach applied by the AdVentures commercial team remains consistent.

Working closely with the AdVentures Business Controller, the AdVentures Business Manager will proactively target new advertisers whilst ensuring we are delivering the maximum level of support to our existing partners at every stage of their journey with us. Fuelling positive business outcomes for them, and increasing the chances of further campaigns with ITV in the future.

Quite simply, we play a key part in ITV's drive towards moving from being seen merely as a 'media owner', to being seen as a 'business partner'.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating a close working relationship with the New Business Managers in our wider team, enabling knowledge and insights to be shared.
  • Proactively approaching target brands to ensure that the AdVentures team's business pipeline continues to grow, and utilising the tools we have access to (Crunchbase, AdIntel etc.) to identify new partner opportunities and category trends.
  • Regularly communicating with the AdVentures Business Controller to discuss any potential targets, and the best approach for us to take.
  • Familiarity with the ITV linear transmission footprint, and the general trends in cost differential between regions.
  • Sharing your knowledge of the digital landscape and the various products and targeting levels that ITV can offer partners (ITVX, AdLabs, Experian, Mastercard etc.)
  • Building both linear and VOD campaign solutions for clients, whilst ensuring partners are comfortable with all core TV 'trading' terms (eg TVR, Impact, Coverage, Frequency).
  • Planning and costing targeted video on demand campaigns - e.g impressions for a specific audience in a future month.
  • Pro-actively monitoring the AdVentures 'on air' portfolio throughout each week.
  • Regular contact with the other ITV teams that play a crucial role in helping us deliver results for our partners: Including traffic, finance, and creative production.

Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)

  • Several years of previous experience in a proactive sales role, this can be within the TV landscape or beyond (other media).
  • A good understanding of small businesses, and the challenges early stage businesses face.
  • General knowledge of digital marketing (Google/social etc.) and therefore TV's place in the wider landscape.
  • General knowledge of TV attribution models (such as Innovid, Adalyser).
  • The ability to confidently explain the definitions of common TV advertising terminology.
  • Effective communicator both internally and externally.
  • Excellent relationship builder with the ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders, earn their trust quickly and establish personal credibility.
  • A positive energy, and resilient 'startup' mindset.
  • A proactive approach to each working day.
