Adult Senior Social Worker - Huntingdon Community Team

About the role

We are a busy generic social work team, offering support to people over the age of 18 with physical disabilities. Our team support a variety of social care duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Care Act 2014, and other relevant legislation. The Team support individuals to achieve their personal outcomes, work with unpaid carers as well as other statutory functions, such as adult safeguarding enquiries. Our focus is on supporting people to remain living safe and well in their local communities.

The role is varied on a day-to-day basis and allows for a high level of multi-agency working, creativity and autonomy. The work includes application for courts, Continuing Healthcare and adult safeguarding.

The team is currently working to a hybrid model, with part-remote and flexible options available in line with our service needs. Once fully trained, our Social Workers will work from the office up to three days each week. This gives our Social Workers a quiet space and plenty of time for reflection whilst still balancing collaborative working and peer support. It has also increased our Social Workers autonomy and has had a positive impact on wellbeing and work-life balance.

What will you be doing?

The role will require you to lead on practice and performance development through the provision of high quality supervision and support of staff in line with The Care Act principles. You will take a lead on highly complex cases, working creatively in partnership with others to manage risk. You will also provide leadership, through managing essential functions of the team including complex safeguarding situations.

About you

You will be passionate about being a Social Worker, a great leader and someone who is keen to share your knowledge and experience with others. As such you will be a SWE registered Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years' experience and preferably a Practice Educator or working towards this. You will have a high level of interpersonal skills, undertaking multi-agency work with partner organisations, providers, individuals, families and carers.

You must:

• Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration
