You'll play a pivotal role in shaping AP best practices, developing your team, and driving forward continuous improvement across our finance operations.
What You'll Be Doing

- Ensuring timely and accurate supplier payments in line with agreed terms and internal KPIs.
- Maintaining compliance with VAT.
- Managing UK and international bank reconciliations; supporting cash flow forecasting.
- Leading and mentoring the AP team, conducting appraisals, and identifying training needs.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams including Procurement, Finance, and IT.
- Producing regular AP performance reports and aged creditor summaries.
- Supporting month-end and year-end closing, including accruals, prepayments, and audit queries.
- Refining AP policies, strengthening internal controls, and embedding best practices.
- Driving innovation through AP automation, P2P transformation, and process enhancements.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in accounts payable, including people management.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting regulations including VAT, UK GAAP, and IFRS.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g. Oracle, D365) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Desirable:
- Experience with AP automation, P2P transformation, or RPA.
- Background in shared-services or finance-transformation environments.
Why Join Us?
This is more than just a finance role-it's an opportunity to make a real impact. You'll be central to driving compliance, efficiency, and innovation across our AP function, with real scope to progress into wider finance leadership or transformation roles. You'll also lead and inspire a talented team, helping shape the future of our finance operations.
