In Group Finance, we support teams across the whole of ITV, helping them create content and products that millions of people interact with every single day. ITV is restructuring its Third Party Payments team, shifting towards a compliance-focused approach to drive change, ensure policy adherence, and optimise workflow efficiency.
The role...
Our busy PTP team is looking for a brand new and experienced Accounts Payable Ledger Specialist on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable ledger, reviewing if invoices are accurately processed, payments are made on time, and vendor accounts are properly maintained. This position involves maintaining accurate records, reconciling large volumes of data and resolving discrepancies.
Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Act as primary contact for invoice inquiries and resolve payment issues.
- Reconcile statements, ensure timely payments, and request missing invoices.
- Address payment errors, track trends, and collaborate on process improvements.
- Maintain accurate ledgers and assist with audits.
- Work with teams to reduce invoice errors and improve PO compliance.
- Build strong supplier relationships to speed up invoice receipts.
- Analyze recurring queries, address root causes, and reduce inquiries.
- Update and maintain SOPs.
- Meet goals, drive compliance, and improve team KPIs.
- Stay updated on processes/tools, engage in 1-2-1s for development.
- Support onboarding and contribute to team success.
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)...
- Significant experience working within an Accounts Payable team with a good understanding of accounting principles
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Oracle, SAP) and proficiency in Excel
- Excellent working knowledge of excel (Vlookups and pivot tables essential)
- Can provide evidence of analysing, presenting and improving data to management, business areas and teams
- Experience of working with Finance ERPs (Oracle Fusion an advantage)

- Can demonstrate a significant understanding of the Account Payable process
- Can demonstrate a strong competency of problem solving
- Excellent skills in using Word, spreadsheets and slides
- Experience of working in a Shared Services / GBS environment is preferred
- Has a good understanding of accounting principles
- The ability to adapt and be flexible to changes in priorities
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Able to navigate complex processes and provide recommendations
- Risk and fraud awareness
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Excellent communication skills to be able to explain root cause findings, trend analysis and process improvement suggestions
