Job purpose:

The Senior Quantity Surveyor drives high quality solutions for our colleagues and customers, resolves complex issues and uses comprehensive technical knowledge to implement improvements to our processes. You'll work closely with another Senior Quantity Surveyor, managing a team of Quantity Surveyors and Apprentices. Reporting to the Director of Building Consultancy.

What you'll be doing:

  • Contribute to the Portfolio Budget setting process by advising on data, insight, and live benchmark costs
  • Deliver a high quality service for QS activity to internal and external customers and own communication to colleagues and stakeholders on progress
  • Implement improvements and updates of Bruntwood standard contracts, documentation and live benchmark data and manage suggestions and recommendations to keep these updated
  • Commercially manage projects across the divisional portfolios using your technical expertise of internal and external QS best practice.
  • Drive and support the wider project team to ensures all schemes are delivered successfully
  • Own the contractual administration and cost control of projects from medium to high value and complexity, using innovative and progressive solutions.
  • Advise the Building Consultancy team on budgets and costs, driving best possible value.
  • Proactively build supplier relationships by staying connected
  • Complete monthly cash flow forecasts to support the team to stay on track and commercially focused.
  • Manage project handover from delivery to operations post PC to deliver a seamless experience.
  • Manage risk and statutory compliance for your own area in line with the company policies and practices.
  • Proactively use your work to contribute to achieving Bruntwood's sustainability goals.

What we're looking for:

  • You''ll be a subject matter expert with post MRICS experience within quantity surveying, with the ability to display technical and detailed knowledge
  • You'll enjoy improving systems and processes, with proven experience in driving efficiencies.
  • Ideally you'll have experience within private practice or a similar client facing environment - where you've had to collaborate closely with external stakeholders.
  • Management experience would be beneficial but not essential, what is important to us is that you enjoy mentoring and supporting more inexperienced colleagues with their development
  • You'll enjoy building trusted key relationships internally and externally, driving works collaboratively and managing conflicting priorities whilst building on our brand reputation
  • You'll be able to negotiate, both internally and externally to reach a win-win outcome for all.
  • You'll have a detailed understanding of commercial property, in terms of contracts and procurement
