Job Description

This vacancy requires 3 days per week at our Strand office and for every other Thursday to be based in 240 Blackfriars Road.

London Tech Week is the UK's most influential, and fastest growing, tech event. Our purpose is to showcase and amplify the power of tech to enrich every aspect of our lives. Our content features big-hitting speakers - from the UK Prime Minister to the CEOs of tech giants to visionary innovators. Our expo floor brings tech to life and enables attendees to make connections which deliver lasting value.

The event has grown rapidly in recent years and we have a clear roadmap to continue this into 2025 and beyond. We are looking for an Account Manager who can support this by creating world-class content and recruiting superstar speakers in a fast-moving and exciting sector.

We currently have a rare opportunity for an exceptional Account Director to join our sales team across London Tech Week.

This fast-paced role will require ambition, initiative, a strong commercial background, the ability to build relationships with senior industry and clients, the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities and excellent internal and external stakeholder management.

This role is responsible for driving increased revenue from a pool of identified key accounts through a mix of new business, growing and maintaining accounts.

Areas of Responsibility and Accountability

  • Full customer account management, including negotiating contracts and agreements to maximize profit (not limited to)
  • Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to your accounts
  • Build and maintain strong, long lasting customer relationships.
  • Building and executing a retention and new business development strategy to grow and expand within new and existing customers including upsetting and cross-selling
  • Achieving revenue targets, proactively responding to inbound inquiries and self-generated leads based on a deep market and product understanding
  • Accurately positioning Informa Tech's products, solutions and services as a solution for market and business challenges that meet the customers needs
  • Reporting accurate forecasting and performance metrics to key internal and external stakeholders, highlighting revenue risks and opportunities
  • Manage projects and engage in project management duties within customer relationships, working to carry out and deliver customer goals while meeting company goals
  • Coordinate with colleagues working on the same account to ensure consistent service • Service multiple customers concurrently, meeting and exceeding deadlines
  • Keep customer information/records up to date such as interactions, transactions, account plans and record on the Informa CRM system.
  • Build a social media presence through social selling
  • Liaise with colleagues to keep your knowledge of new and existing products, services and solutions up to date
  • Share news and insight with all internal colleagues
  • Proactively develop yourself, keep abreast of the changing landscape and have a personal development plan utilising the Informa Tech Sales Excellence Competencies
  • Keep up to date with current market conditions and competitors' products
  • Attend key Informa and industry relevant competitor events
  • Work on projects across the business as and when required

Qualifications

  • Industry/Market Pillar Knowledge ~ Bespoke Consulting, Events, Digital Media or Marketing Services products. Experience required.
  • Sales Management experience in; coaching skills; ability to observe, evaluate, and give meaningful feedback
  • Executing go to market sales plans and accurate forecasting
  • Engaging at a senior level, building long lasting relationships, solutions selling with developed negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com
  • Data Analytical Skills - the ability to review data and information, draw conclusions and actionable takeaways.
  • Commerciality/P&L Management
  • Expertise in Sales Methodologies
  • Project management
  • Problem solving capability
