Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others. This work is delivered at NSG's own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles.

The Role
To deliver low risk, low complexity tasks/work packages within a formal project environment to contribute towards successful completion of projects, under the control of a project manager or senior project manager, compliant with AWE / NSG processes.
To undertake project administration, procurement and reporting activities in support of the project management function.

Project Delivery Tasks
- Deliver assigned tasks in accordance with requirements, operational constraints, time, cost and quality.
- Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
- Undertake tasks for Governance (compliance and reporting).
- Task management of project resources (people, money).
- Support the planning of the task/project.
- Deliver work as defined in the Work Authorisation Document (WAD).
- Support and initiate change against the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
- Support, initiate and perform risk and opportunity identification and subsequent actions.
- Updating and maintaining forecast, programme and change register throughout the Characterisation, Design, Procurement, Implementation and Commissioning phases of Decommissioning projects.
- Direct Supervision of NSG Decommissioning personnel and sub-contractors
Bid Support
Communication and Documentation
- Provide appropriate response to contractor, client or internal colleague enquiry and ensure completion of all necessary process documentation.
Contract Reviews and Tender Support
- Support tender and contract reviews through the provision of relevant and informed technical or commercial information as necessary.
Commercial Awareness / Client and Business Liaison
Commercial Awareness
- Through CPD ensure awareness of latest contractual and commercial arrangements and the impact on current and future projects
- Be aware of Company business plan and to promote NSG to ensure continuity of business within the context of that plan.
Client and Business Liaison
- Contribute to the development and success of current projects by the internal referral and communication of appropriate information and intelligence
- Recognise the potential impact of own actions for the Group, Company, AWE and suppliers and act in appreciation of this at all times
- Maintain effective working relationships across all Group, Company, Site and Function Heads
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Good standard of education to include English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent - Essential
- A graduate level of qualification is desirable or demonstrable equivalent experience - Desirable
- Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent - Relevant training will be provided if required
Experience & Knowledge
- Evidence of technical or teamwork experience in a business setting - Essential
- Demonstrable experience in delivery of Engineering or Decommissioning at a work package level - Desirable
- Knowledge of the project lifecycle - Desirable
- Experience of working within a highly regulated environment - Desirable
- Familiar with structuring and presentation of own work - Desirable
- Used to dealing with confidential and commercial information - Desirable
- Familiar with integrated management system operating procedures and requirements etc. - Desirable
Skills & Abilities
- Competent user of MS Office - Essential
- Able to organise and prioritise own work
- Read, analyse and interpret charts, spreadsheets, schedules and (in some business areas) technical drawings - Essential
- Clear and concise communication approach, both oral and written, at multiple levels - Essential
- Effective multi-task working, identify and manage priorities and work to challenging timescales - Essential
- Possess good listening skills enabling requests to be assimilated and converted into action plans - Essential

Package
Hours - 37.5 hours per week
Overtime - 37.5-60hours per week - Time and half
Overtime - 60+ hours per week or Sundays - Double time
