About the Site
Blackgrange and Cambus are key sites within the Scotch Spirit Supply Chain. The sites consist of filling, warehousing & disgorging for malt and grain spirits. It is a very busy site, taking spirit in cask from the filling stores and supplying whisky to packaging, and third parties and operates all year round.
Blackgrange warehousing consists of traditional, rack and pallet cask operations and the site will see significant investment in additional modern warehousing.
About the Role
Our Maturation Operator Apprenticeship is designed to give you a springboard for a long and exciting career in warehousing. Every week you'll find yourself in the workplace and completing college work. You'll have in-depth training on the different areas of maturation. This covers filling, warehousing, disgorging and cask management operations.
Your college time will give you an introduction to the principles of warehousing and storage. And at the end of the programme, you'll roll off with bags of experience, a SCQF Level 5 qualification in Warehousing and Storage and a genuine prospect of a job as a maturation operator.
As part of this apprenticeship, you will be based on-site full-time, with an Assessor from Fife College visiting once a week to support your development.
Who are we looking for?
Academically we are looking for 2 National 5's (or Global equivalent) in English and Mathematics. Please note that we will only be able to accept applications from people who have already achieved these grades.

What are the Career Paths after the programme?
Completing the Maturation Operator Apprenticeship opens doors to various career paths, including Maturation Operator roles across our North and South Maturation sites. There are also opportunities to progress into Senior Operator positions, with potential development towards a Trainee Business Leader role, as well as career opportunities within support functions.
What should I expect from the selection process?
Selecting the right individuals to join our programme is crucial to us - we want to see all that complete this Apprenticeship succeed and keep crafting a satisfying career!
This is why we have built a robust selection process:
- 1st STEP - CV application and Pymetrics assessment
At this stage, it is important that you submit your updated CV, clearly stating your highest acquired education and your experience.No prior experience is required to be considered for the apprenticeship program. A brief description of your part time jobs, volunteering, sports, and hobbies can be a fantastic way to introduce yourself.
Right after your CV submission, you will receive an email with a link to Pymetrics to participate in an online game based assessment. Please make sure to complete the set in a quiet environment with no distraction and stable Wi-Fi.
If you successfully pass the first screening stage, you will then be invited to the second step.
- 2nd STEP - Video Interview
- 3rd Step - Assessment Centre
Some roles and locations may also be subject to a 4th stage where you will be invited to site to meet with additional managers for a tour to help you fully understand the role you are applying for.
