Role Overview

The Operations Support Manager drives continuous improvement across container operations by developing processes, leading change initiatives, and supporting performance, safety, and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and build projects that continuously improve operations performance and behaviours within the 4-shift system and Delivery function; Use appropriate data to identify priorities for such activities and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Deliver unambiguous and authentic safety leadership to your Team and/or colleagues, based on the HPUK Leadership guide, ensuring that the moral, legal and financial case for safety, the vision to tackle issues and the department/shift safety plan is communicated, understood and embedded in business as usual.
  • Support and challenge the operation teams to deliver against standards; drive a consistent approach to the use of performance standards across operations educating the teams on operational performance measures e.g., HR, Health & Safety or quality control metrics.
  • Maintain strong links with the shift teams ensuring that, where required, clear communication is maintained on their current and planned activities; prepare communications materials for activities and projects as appropriate.

What you need

  • Educated to Degree level or with equivalent experience in an Operational environment.
  • Experienced in container operations or similar logistics or maritime operating environment.
  • Critical thinking, experience of working with company policies, codes of practice and operating procedures
  • Ability to work within an environment that changes at a fast pace.
  • Be a self-starter who can work under own direction.

Shifts & Pay

  • Basic salary: £64,765
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
