William Hill

About

William Hill

William Hill started his business in 1934, travelling on a motorbike, taking bets in the local area of Birmingham. Continuing the innovative spirit of our founder, we have grown into an international and multi-brand business which was acquired by evoke, one of the world’s leading online betting and gaming companies.

We make a huge investment in our people, offering great career development opportunities. Our colleagues make William Hill what it is and we offer a fast-paced environment where we have fun, celebrate success and give you all the tools you’ll need to be your best self.

Retail Careers

With around 1,300 shops across the UK, we've been a permanent fixture on the UK high street since 1966 - and our Retail team sit right at the heart of our high-street experience.

Welcome to the team

Our colleagues in retail work as part of our UK division, which brings together all of our UK customers, whether that's betting online or in our shops, meaning we all benefit from working together to provide a customer experience that’s both safe and great fun.

The careers we offer in our shops are about much more than simply taking bets. Our colleagues are the backbone of our business and working in retail for William Hill is really about getting to know our customers and the communities in which we live and work.

How does William Hill’s hiring process work?

The recruitment process can vary depending on which role you apply for, so it is best to reach out to your recruiter for specific details however, if you have found a role that looks of interest to you, be sure to apply via our careers site.

  • For our Retail roles you will then be invited to complete an online assessment. If you are successful at this stage you will then be invited to attend a competency based interview.
  • For our corporate roles, once you have submitted your CV, our recruitment team will assess your skills and experience relevant to the specifications of the job your have applied for. If you are selected to advance to the next stage, you will be invited to have an initial call with one of our recruiters for you to learn a little more about the role and company.

If the recruiter still feels you would be a suitable candidate for the role following on from this conversation, you will be invited to attend a competency-based interview with the hiring manager. At this stage the process may differ depending on the role/team; in some circumstances you may be invited for a second interview with potential stakeholders/teammates.

Once all stages are complete, the hiring manager(s) will complete their feedback and confirm whether or not you have been successful for the role you have applied for. If you are successful, you will hear back from your recruiter for them to then discuss the job offer in more detail.
