Job summary

The purpose of this job is to assist in the smooth running of the Dispensary, taking a lead role in monitoring the Dispensary tracker system to ensure that targets are met. To undertake planned work supported by the provision of clear standard operating procedures and under the guidance and supervision of the Dispensary Manager. To supervise allocated staff to the dispensary, prioritising work in conjunction with the team leader. Liaise and provide support to the 7-day home delivery service.

Main duties of the job

To monitor the dispensary tracker system ensuring that medication is dispensed in a timely manner.

To support the Pharmacy home delivery service.

Receive prescriptions from patients.

Dispensing of prescriptions and stocks for wards, departments, other hospitals and clinics.

To accurately supply and dispense Controlled Drugs

  • Knowledge and experience underpinned by appropriate training equivalent to NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) grade C or above in Maths & English
