Job summary
The Cancer Services Team are looking for a highly motivated Cancer Tracking Information Manager to join our Cancer Services Team. This post is open to applications who are experienced in cancer tracking and waiting times,
Experience of managing staff is essential to the role, as well as an extensive working knowledge and experience of national requirements regarding Cancer Waiting Times and the provision of the cancer minimum dataset.
You will be responsible for managing the Cancer tracking team across the Trust. You will have specialist knowledge of the Cancer Waiting Time targets and excellent data management skills. A large part of the role involves liaising with Clinical and none clinical staff, Analysis and Reporting staff and senior management on a regular basis.
We are looking for a pro-active multitasker with excellent communication skills to assist the Cancer Service Manager in developing, maintaining, and managing the service in order to ensure the quality and timeliness of cancer tracking across the Trust.

Main duties of the job
The role involves working collaboratively with the Operational Services Manager and General Manager in the provision of high quality information to support the national mandated Cancer Waiting Times, including the development of robust and comprehensive systems and processes for the collection of all current and future mandatory cancer information requirements. Also required to analyse and validate cancer data both internally and externally in order to calculate performance against the agreed National Cancer Waiting Times targets.
The post holder is also responsible for managing and leading the Multi-Disciplinary Team ensuring the provision of a comprehensive administrative support to tumour specific multi-disciplinary teams throughout the Trust.
The post holder will also lead on the implementation, management, training and updating of the Somerset Cancer Register.
