Job summary

Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a Research Trial Manager to work on the PETAL (Personalised treatment packages for adults with learning disabilities who display aggression in community settings) research programme, which is funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR)'s Programme Grants for Applied Science (PGAR). . It is conducted in collaboration with University College London and is led by Professor Angela Hassiotis who is a professor of psychiatry of intellectual disabilities and consultant psychiatrist at Camden and Islington Foundation Trust.

The post holders' work base will be in University College London, where the study lead works.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have the leading role in co-ordinating the clinical trial. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required, together with the ability to organise and motivate others. The post holder will work with the programme manager, Dr Royston, and the co-applicants to deliver the trial. There is support from the PRIMENT Clinical Trials Unit.

The post holder will demonstrate flair, enthusiasm, innovation and leadership when faced with challenges and will provide strategic, tactical and operational management skills in the planning and execution of the project. They will be required to carry out qualitative interviews with a proportion of stakeholders.

About us

The post will involve the coordination and management of all aspects of a clinical trial that will recruit from a number of NHS community intellectual disability services across 3 countries (England, Scotland and Northern Ireland).

You will be provided with an induction to working for Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. Supervision in your role will be provided by the Chief Investigator.
